Small Mouth Bass Card Stamp by JessicaLynnOriginal.com

My step-dad is currently in the hospital and I wanted to draw up something that would just make him smile. When I was a kid he used to take us fishing ALL THE TIME and I thought it would be a great challenge for me to draw a fish of some type. So small mouth bass it is. I actually think he looks adorable and it kinda makes me want to go fishing.

When I gave him the card he was very impressed with the art and told me that it was the best art he had seen in a long time. We laughed and I just love it! I am going to be offering this bass as part of a new "Manly" set of stamps that I am working on. I think you are going to LOVE IT! I would love to hear what you think of my card and new design!

Adorable Cricut Deer with JLO Stamp

I wanted to spend the day creating some Happy Birthday cards with my friend. I made eleven cards and it was a lot of fun just to make a bunch.

The used my Cricut machine.. which I LOVE! I have a design set that will cut out animals (raccoons, deer, etc) and I cut out this adorable deer.

I took a little brown box and drew out some flowers that I hand colored in with colored pencils. I love the look of colored pencils on brown paper. The happy birthday stamp is just one of my favorites.. I love the font. It is the same one that I use for JLMould.etsy.com.

Old vacation Photo Proofs? Contest!!

I ordered digital photos from Shutterfly they included photo proofs.

Good Morning,

I was cleaning out one of my rooms in my house when I came across some old photo proofs that were just tooo cute. I thought I wonder what I can do with this??

I just played around with using these photos. I cut out a bunch of them and added them on the top of the first card. I really think layout could be great for a couple and their engagement photos or wedding thank you cards. Maybe they could be in black and white?

The second card I ran the strip down the side with six photos.. this one might be the better option only because you can buy one of these proof sheets and then make six cards for the price of one. I would love to challenge you to make your own version of these cards with "Proofs".

Inspired by You! My amazing customers...

Last week I was inspired by all of the amazing logos that I worked with while creating stamps that I felt it was time to take a few minutes and design a brand new packaging stamp that I can place on all of my shipments. I wanted to include the adorable bird and branch branding that I have done on my stamp website http://JLMould.etsy.com.

I just love putting together solid fonts with heavy script and I LOVE the wording on this stamp. I hope that you love it when it arrives are your door with your packaging. I used high quality Archival Ink (all that I have handy) which I LOVE. I do sell Archival ink in my store: JLMould Inks.

Disney World

I just spent an amazing and relaxing week with some of family in Disney World. Wow, compared to Wisconsin it was freakin' hot, but great! The park is under a lot of construction but I know that in the next few years the expansions are going to be amazing. Aaron and I are huge Disney fans.. we just love it. What other place can you go to just be silly and enjoy. There are some of the greatest restaurants and nighttime places for adults.. it ISN'T just four theme parks.

"Get a good idea, and stay with it! Dog it, and work at it until it's done, and done right" - Walt Disney.

The plane ride gave the opportunity to relax and take some time to figure out what is next for myself, family, and stamping business. I have some really great ideas and I can't wait to share them with you. I look forward to creating amazing stamps for your needs and seeing what you create with them.

About 2 weeks ago our house got a little crazy. We got a new puppy named Evee! It has been really exciting to bring in a new member to the family. Our older pup Strider just adores her. I wanted to make a special card to welcome her to the family.

Update.. she is now 2 1/2 years old and an amazing agility dog. She loves to watch me work on stamp orders and she LOVES to play. OMG.

I used the JessicaLynnOriginal Corgi Set #2 (Evee is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix but I just drew on a tail and it worked perfect.)

Adorable Tiny Dog fetching

My dogs are just suffering waiting for the water to go away from our backyard so they can run and play too. Wisconsin has just had some horrible rain.. luckily no tornado. I just fell in LOVE with this perfect line drawing of this door. I love the entire idea about everything that happens to this couple to start their marriage happens there. What I sell: I initially started out my business selling handmade cards, but over the past 5 years I've hugely expanded my range. I make handmade brooches, earrings, rings, pocket mirrors, badges and a small range of customized clothes. I still love making cards though and have continued making them through all the changes in my business. I sell at a weekly craft market in Limerick, Ireland. I also sell on etsy and a few boutiques around the country.


This is a 5x7 sized red rubber stamp mounted on a wooden block.

Story behind the stamp: My partner's brother is getting married this Summer, and John is going to be the best man. The couple wanted a low key wedding with some personal touches. I chatted with the bride to be and she wanted something different for her cards. The wedding reception is in an old Georgian building and she wanted to incorporate this into the invitation design. We discussed using the door as a symbol of welcoming her guests to the wedding. My boyfriend John is studying a Masters in Archaeology, and also has a background in Archaeological Illustration, so her was the perfect choice to do the drawing for the invites. I then approached Jessica about getting a mold made to fit the size of the card. After the beautiful stamp arrived myself and the bride made the cards adding the simple touch of red water color on the door itself. Myself and Shelly, the bride, is delighted with the result, saying it's exactly what she wanted.

Who doesn't love that adorable Yorkie face? I am hosting a dog swap and I have been playing around with the style of card that I want to make. This is one of those samples.I found some adorable lime green paper in my collection and I loved the swirl on it. I wanted it to be the focus of the background. I colored in the adorable Yorkie with colored pencils and stamped the "I Love my Yorkshire Terrier".

Hoppy Easter....

Easter to me always means that spring has arrived. Every year we go to my husband's father's house for the holiday and spend it with a lot of family. We do the Easter egg hunt for the kids,candy,huge lunch,gathering of many family members, and Cascarones ... if you do not know what they are.. let me tell you. They are a hoot!

Cascarones or confetti eggs are festive, hollowed-out chicken eggs filled with confetti or small toys. Decorated, confetti-filled cascarones may be thrown or crushed over the recipient's head to shower him or her with confetti.

I love to make cards to share with those that are not able to get to the gathering. Just a small way to tell them that I am thinking about them. I love chickens.. and I wanted to just make a simple card that showed off these stamps. I stamped the background with "Bunny Egg" and then only colored in things with green and yellow!

First what is not to love about a photographer who buys a stamp from you?? You know they are going to showcase what they can do with the stamp. I worked with her to create a custom stamp from her logo. She sent it in full color and I made adjustments to it and changed it into the black and white logo that you see. I created it as a red rubber stamp with a wooden base.

HOW SHE USES IT:

Lorie uses the stamp to create her DVD holders which is how she stores her photography. What an amazing gift talk about a wonderful investment. I love her packaging. I work with a lot of photographers who use their stamps to add their logo to the back of photos, mailings, but this is another great idea! I just love what she created with her stamp.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend, it is finally starting to feel like spring is maybe on the way. (Feels like forever) I wanted to create a card that I could do a little bit of "Green" to it.

I used an old paper bag for the background of the card and I really focused on the stamp. It is a brand new image from JessicaLynnOriginal that I really just wanted to color. I used colored pencils and made the flowers bright and alive.
I love mixing the brown with the bright pop of yellow. It reminds me of when people paint their front doors red.. my whole house is red so what does that tell you about me!! lol :)

I simply just mounted the colored flowers and rounded the corners so that more of the black would show. Then I stamped the "You are in my Thoughts" and I think this would be a great anytime card to send to someone. I LOVE to send out cards randomly.. now if I could just get better about remembering birthdays I would be good!!

I am just in love with Disney's Tangled. I can't not wait to own it, I got it from my sister Tracey for my birthday. I felt inspired to want to create an adorable card that included Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.

In May I am going to Disney World and I can not wait to get my photo with the two of them... ok.. mainly with Flynn.

This has become my favorite Disney Movie! What is your favorite Disney movie??

This is one of my favorite stamps, this is a super happy Corgi with sunglasses and all. I took some great brown paper and stamped the Cori on the page with black ink. Then I used colored pencils to make him come to life. On the white paper I stamped the word Corgi and then Happy Birthday over top. I really love this card.

Green Bay Weekend!

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I spent my weekend working on a bunch of new designs and creating cards to share!

It was also the perfect time to visit LAMBEAU FIELD the home of the Green Bay Packers. It was amazing. I just loved going on the tour of the stadium. We got to see a lot of backstage things .. no Packers.. but it was a blast. We got to tour everything.. and I took so many photos. (over 80!)

Then we visited Egg Harbor and spent a bunch of days making cards. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing all of the cards with you!!

Have you ever visited a football or baseball stadium and taken a tour!? Which ones do you suggest and why?

I love card making challenges!!!

The card that I created was inspired by Adam Lambert {my favorite American Idol} I wanted to make something a little Rock N' Roll and something funky. I used the SplitcoastStampers Swap Layout SC218. This layout is just too cute. I used some of the Rockstar Stack of paper that I bought from JoAnn Fabrics. The cardstock that I used has adorable skulls in black and silver. Then I cut out some yellow card stock and then added the Brentwood Owl. I colored him in with my Copic Markers. (I JUST LOVE THOSE)

Here is the card that I created. I just love the way that is looks. What do you think??

If you haven’t already started/finished your Christmas cards, hopefully this will inspire you to come up with an idea. I used this adorable digital stamp and created a word document and placed the image all of the page. Then I printed it because I wanted to leave the backround in black and white. I triple matted the background. Then I printed one more digital stamp and colored it with my copic markers. Then I took my Marvy Tag Punch and made it look like a christmas tag. I matted it in black and punched a tiny whole and added a brad. I also used a Gelly Roll pen to glitter up the flower. I am just in LOVE with this card.

Veterans Day is an annual United States holiday honoring military veterans. A federal holiday, it is observed on November 11. It is also celebrated as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day in other parts of the world, falling on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)

What a great way to tell your Pup that they mean a lot to you? I just love this adorable container that features an adorable Corgi running on the front! You could make a bunch of these and give them to the rescue groups or friends with dogs!

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Healthy Dog Snacks

1 3/4 cups plain flour

· 2 tsp toasted wheat germ

· 1/2 cup brown sugar

· 1/4 cup sesame seeds

· rind of 1 lemon

· 12 tsp butter or margarine

· 1/2 cup ground walnuts

· 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Combine all the ingredients. Knead until thoroughly blended. Divide into 6 parts. Roll each into a log. Wrap loosely in waxpaper. Freeze. When needed, thaw and slice into 1/2 thick slices (across roll). Preheat oven to 375F. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie pan. Bake about 12 minutes. Makes 6-8 cookies per roll.

The Blind Side....

Football superstar Brentwood is ready for you to show off your favorite team!

I just spent the morning watching one of my favorite movies The Blind Side. It has a lot of things that I just love. Football, Tim McGraw, and a great story. If you haven't see that the movie then you really should rent it, it really is one of the best.

I colored this adorable Brentwood card in the Michael Oher colors and his number 74!

The Blind Side is the story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All American football player and first round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family. I had a tough time watching the movie because I was waiting for Tim to pick up a guitar and start singing a little Indian Outlaw. I can't wait to see him in the new movie this January!!

Depending on who you talk to my family likes/loves football. Many Packer fans... and I just love the Tennessee Titans. I think that I love them because of the location first and their colors are great! It is great to spend a Sunday working on packaging up orders and watch a little football.

Time to start your Christmas Cards...

If you have not done so yet, now is the time to start on your christmas cards!!

When you are making your own Christmas cards, it’s important to plan ahead. Even if you choose a design that takes just 15 minutes to complete, making a large batch of holiday cards is still a fairly time consuming project. Start early to make sure your cards arrive at their destination before Christmas Day!

Making an assembly line is generally the easiest way to speed up the card making process. Find an area where you can work undisturbed, then make small “stations” with the papers and embellishments necessary for each step of your card. If you have children at home, consider asking them to help with the cutting, gluing, and envelope stuffing.

Aaron and I usually create a graphic card using photos and clip art, but we often make some of the holiday cards using stamps for JessicaLynnOriginal that we send to our customers. We are have thankful for each of you... everyday. This adorable reindeer is one of our brand new stamps. I would love to see what you create with this adorable image.

Have you ever been out Geocaching? It is ok if you haven't.. we have only been doing it for the past two years. My Mom said that her best friend thought we should try this really fun thing that gets you outside and hunting for containers.

What is Geocaching?? Only the best way to get out and see the world with a purpose! eocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. We just hit the 280 mark and we have place 5 caches.. we only have four that are currently active, but it is so exciting when people visit our caches.

I love to make my own Christmas cards (I usually make each card different - some funny, some serious.. really depending on my mood). I really think it can be a lot of fun and original. I found this amazing snowflake paper that worked really well with the "reason for the season" stamp. I really love to feature the image when I create cards by coloring with my Copic markers.

As we near the time of Christmas, we will see the decorations going up. the people madly shopping for gifts. the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Hi Everyone!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful fall weekend. I just love spending the weekend out with my dogs and working on crafting projects. It is easy to say that Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year.... at least until Christmas gets closer! My husband and I now have our pumpkins are can't wait to carve them.. I think this Weds or Thursday will be the magic day for that.

With the perfect fall days of the past two weeks I have gotten to spend a lot of time with my dogs, husband, and camera outside. I just love to take photos to remember that I did. I just love the colors of the pumpkins (above photo). They were such a rich color of orange.

I love to support other small businesses and we got our pumpkins from www.meadowbrookfun.com which was a wonderful family farm. It was an adorable farm that featured a little of everything including: corn maze (night & day version) , petting zoo, Halloween items, and so much more.

When I was twenty I got to go to New York with my college theater program to visit backstage musicals, costume design shops, the Henson shop, and lots more. It was an experience that I will never forget. During that trip I got to go and see Beauty and the Beast with Toni Braxton as Belle, Lion King, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, and Ragtime. I spent everynight at the theater because I couldn't get enought of it. It was such a blast. I really hope that I get to take my husband there someday so he can take all of it in.

I have spent most of this summer taking my adorable Border Collie to puppy classes and getting her ready for Agility. The class right after mine is fill with adorable Bernese Mountain Dogs.

They are my husband Aaron's dream dog of choice, but they are a very large dog and our house wouldn't be able to support that size pup! Each of them is sweeter than the next one.

Old English Sheepdog

In my neighborhood there is a lady who owns an Old English Sheepdog and she just loves her buddy. He is just the happiest dog I have ever seen, and I do have two of my own (you can kinda see them in the background of this photo. The white & black blurriness in the background) She always places his hair in the ponytail so he can see where they are walking. When I see this card it just reminds me of the two of them!

So when I designed this stamp set I wanted to try and show off "all the looks" of this breed. There are also some words included in the set. I am twelve breeds down to my goal.

The other memory of this breed that I have is from the movie Labyrinth with David Bowe. Jennifer C (then a teenage) owns an Old English that gets stuck in the rain.

At the start of the movie it is Merlin and then once she is in the labyrith his name is Ambrosius and he belongs to Sir Didymus. (My personal favorite Muppet in the movie)

What a great place to hide for a while.

I had a request for a card with a cat and quilt. I am always up for an artists challenge. So I created card with a digital stamp that is available at JessicaLynnOriginal.com. I used my Copic Markers, they are my favorite to use. The shadowing is my favorite part about them. I might need to invest in some more colors.

I am still learning how to use ribbon, piecing, and embellishment pieces of cards making. Most of my cards are really the art. I am learning a lot by following many blogs online.

Cutest Pet Contest Winners

I am so excited to announce that all of the adorable pet photos have arrived and we have some winners! We had so many adorable pets to view. It is so hard to pick the winners so my husband and I placed all of the photos in a bucket and pulled the top three. Then I picked a hand full to also draw up. Then we had an idea.. I will be drawing up some more of the animals and I will offer them for a limited time as digital art. $1.00 from each digital stamp will go to Humane Animal Welfare Society of Wisconsin. Time to be the leader of the Herd

As the owner of a Border Collie and a 1/2 Border Collie I wanted to draw up one. I entered this art into a contest for the Midwest Border Collie Rescue to create T-shirts with my design. I think it would be great to win. We will see.

The Border Collie is a dog breed, often cited as the most intelligent of all dogs. They can be fairly energetic, and are used on farms to assist with the herding of livestock. Border Collies are also companion animals.

It was my husband and my 8th anniversary on July 13 and we spent the afternoon enjoying the wonderful Wisconsin weather. It has been really wonderful to spend the afternoon outside.

What do you do with all those Disney pins?

My husband and I have been cleaning out the house and we came across an old collection of Disney Pins that he started on our honeymoon. To give you an idea of the time we are talking about.. our anniversary is July 13 and it will be eight years. He had collected some really great pins ones that are not around at all anymore, including an Alien Encounter. I wanted a way that we could show off the treasures and still keep them in mint condition (they are collectable).

Why not frame them on the wall, this is a great project for you and your kids. This only takes about 30 minutes.

Supplies:

1/4 to 1/2 inch Cork Board (I got this at Michael's)
12x12 Frame it helps to have the type with the spring back closures. They are the scrapbooking frames that are about 3/4 wide.
12x12 Designed Scrapbook Page or just a Black Sheet of 12x12 as shown.
Your Disney Pins.

STEP ONE: The first thing that I did was gather all of my supplies. I also cleared off the craft table so I would have some room to create!

As you can see all of his pins were living on the lanyard just being ignored. It also isn't a great way to showcase what he has unless you are in the parks that is a whole another story.

Hint: Want to trade a lot of pins when you get to the parks. Check out Ebay. There are a lot of wholesale lots of Disney pins. Keep the ones you like and trade the rest. Just make sure that all of the pins that you are trading are Official Disney pins.

STEP TWO: Take all of the supplies out of their packaging, I would suggest at this point to clean the glass in the frame and (if you have kids) hide it until you are finished with the project.

At this point you can be creative at you want to be. You can create an amazing 12x12 scrapbook page to place the pins on. Maybe you collect Haunted Mansion Pins and you want to display them all. Get some amazing haunted dark paper and make and amazing collection. It just makes me want to collect a specific grouping of pins now. Maybe Stitch is your favorite. You can create a Hawaiian scene with all of the Stitch Pins. This is a great way to get your kids focused on creating a collection not just a bunch of random pins. (like my hubby has)

STEP THREE: Put it all together. Just like a sandwich place the cork board on the bottom and stack the 12x12 scrapbook page on top of it. Now you are ready to create a scene to show off those pins. You can place them all over the page or create a specific design with them.

STEP FOUR: Place the collection in a frame and close it up. You can hang it on your wall and display all of your pins. The best part about this project is you can ALWAYS change it. Maybe they add new pins, or decide to trade some of the display away. You just need a new 12x12 paper and you are ready to start again.

I have really been inspired to draw out some great little scenic designs with the "When the Sun goes Down" collection.

Whether you use them at the table for an Irish blessing, shout them to others at the bar, text them to a friend, here are some fun things think about.

When the sun goes down.. in the city

I was in a New York kinda mood today so I designed another in the "when the sun goes down" series. I just love the exitement of going to New York to see a broadway music.

When I was twenty I got to go to New York with my college theater program to visit backstage musicals, costume design shops, the Henson shop, and lots more. It was an experience that I will never forget. During that trip I got to go and see Beauty and the Beast with Toni Braxton as Belle, Lion King, Titanic, Phantom of the Opera, and Ragtime. I spent everynight at the theater because I couldn't get enought of it. It was such a blast. I really hope that I get to take my husband there someday so he can take all of it in.

I designed this new digital stamp for you to use to create your own New York with your favorite billboards. Maybe you could add someone's birthday, or their photo, perhaps a wedding anniversary, or your favorite musical. I couldn't get the Kenny Chesney out of my head while I was drawing out this image. Makes me want to go to the beach.

I think the best part about designing the stamps for JessicaLynnOriginal.com is waiting to see how everyone else uses the image to create their own original cards and items. This is a pre-launch I am so excited to share with you a brand new Brentwood stamp. It has been a little bit and Brentwood & Friends (c) have returned and they are ready to wow you!

The first new Brentwood stamp for the 2010 season is "Off to see the Wizard" how can you not love this adorable stamp that is 4"inches x 2" inches in size. You can see that Brentwood and all of his friends are dressed up like the classics.

Adam as the Lion, Fredrick as Tin Man, Ruby as Dorothy, and the lovable Brentwood as the Scarecrow. They also have Ruby's pet mouse, Tiny there too. This would make for the perfect stamp for birthday parties, oz fans, or just because they all look adorable in their costumes.

Stamps on Pottery

I just got this email from an amazing client who ordered a custom stamp from me. She wanted to do something that could showcase both her & her hubby-to-be's talents. He drew some amazing art that he wanted to feature on pottery. So I pictured that they would create a scrapbook-ish type item that they would glue on to the pottery. I didn't think they would be "creating" the pottery from scratch. You have to see this.

They actually took the stamp and pushed it into the pottery before it was placed in the kiln. They colored it and then cooked it. I can not image going to this wedding and getting one of these amazing pieces of art. I just love it.

Brentwood the Owl(c),is named after the city I spent a lot of time in, it is just one reflection of that inspiration. Brentwood,TN is one of my favorite locations in the world. I am not sure what gets me the most the rolling hills, historic homes, and good southern sweet tea.

I want to do something to give back to a place that inspired me. I have watched the news and talked to many of my friends from this wonderful location and my heart goes out to you all. I can't image a summer without country music and laughter in that city.

As an artist I have always been inspired by the things that are in front of me. A park, A deep dark forest, A painting, A sunset, A dog crossing the street - you name it. When I first started with JessicaLynnOriginal is was because I loved to draw.. Don’t get me wrong I love drawing even more now than I did before. But know I look at what I am doing as something a bit more. When I see the card or item that was scrapbooked using my stamps I feel like it is collaboration between us. It is very exciting to see something that I drew become part of your art.

I am in the process of changing how the blog is going to look and feel. It was a location that will inspire you to create some amazing items. Good Evening,

I am really disappointed in the fact that you are taking away Flynn Rider from the parks. I was in the MK park May 28th-June 4 and the line was over an HOUR for BOTH Flynn and Rapunzel. BTW.. I was in that line to get MY photo with just Flynn. While the line for Cinderella or Mickey was only 30 minutes.

I am really confused why Disney would develop a character like Flynn and not want to have him in the parks. He was very interactive with the guests and got a great reception. I don't get why you are taking away a chance for a little boy to have a hero... to look up to. No offense but most little boys don't want to grow up to be Cinderella.. (some do.. not most don't)

I get cut backs.. but this is just not cool. I do not understand why you do not have John Smith and Pocahontas, Tarzan and Jane, Hercules and Meg (where are they by the way??), the list goes one... Little boys need someone to look up to.. and I don't think Jack Sparrow is it. I am really sick of only seeing the boys in Peter Pan (again.. where is he??) or Woody or Buzz costumes. (they are EVERYWHERE).

Please rethink the way that you are "cutting back".. I think you really need to hone in on the fact that people come to your parks to have their photos with YOUR characters.. and they are willing to wait.. just a as important as "The Pirates of the Caribbean ride... or Haunted Mansion"

My only other thought is that this movie came out in November 2010.. Kids are still coming to the Magic Kingdom for the summer.. if you were going to cut Flynn, etc why wouldn't you wait until your PEAK summer travel is over? Just an honest business question.
